CAMPOREE 2022 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

1. WHAT ACTIVITIES WILL BE AVAILABLE?
We are still compiling a list of activities for the camporee. However activities range from onsite Scout-led Activities, inclusing wall, and cresta run- to SEC -Led crafts, honours, games, etc,. We are considering an ofsite activity. All activities will be age appropriate and challenging enough for our children. We will commnicate this in good time.

2. THE TED CAMPOREE IN 2019 INCLUDE FOOD. WHY IS FOOD NOT INCLUDED IN THE CAMPOREE FEE?
In the history of Camporees, both Conference and Union, Food has never been included in the Camporee Fee. Clubs are aware that they are responsible for their own catering according to their needs and palates.
International Camporees include food, because of the logistical challenges that arise when attendees travel by air, when luggage are limited. Usually the food is catered and arranged via a ;local host club.

3. YOU OFFER MULTIPLE CHILD DISCOUNTS UP TO 3 CHILDREN. Does the multiple child discount apply across the two camps? So 1 child in Adventurers and 1 child in Pathfinders, does the 2nd child get the discount?
We have various Child Discount packages available, but are too numerous and complicated to put on our website. We will always try to accommodate families with multiple children. If you have a multiple child family that does not fit the following scenario, please contact the SEC Pathfinder and Adventurer office so we cann see what we can do.
                                 INDIVIDUAL ADVENTURER ATTENDEES
                                 £80 per Adventurer;  £75 per 2nd Adventurer in a family ;  £70 per 3rd Adventurer & thereafter

                              INDIVIDUAL PATHFINDER ATTENDEES
                              £150 per Pathfinder; £140.00 per 2nd Pathfinder in a family; £130 per 3rd Pathfinder & thereafter

THIS IS A CAMP TO BENEFIT PATHFINDERS AND ADVENTURERS. UNFORTUNATELY WE DO NOT OFFER ADULT/STAFF DISCOUNTS

4.  IF A CLUB WILL BE ATTENDING BOTH CAMPOREES, WILL THEY HAVE TO MOVE TO ANOTHER SPOT IF ADVENTURER CAMPOREE IS OVER?
We will allocate spots for clubs based on their size over all the Adventurer Camporee to Pathfinder Camporee. We will not ask any club to move, unless it is really necessary or for safety or health reasons.

5. THE APPLICATION FORM HAS A MANDATORY SECTION FOR A DBS NUMBER. IF A PARENT/LEADER DOES NOT HAVE THEIR DBS SORTED BY APPLICATION DEADLINE (15 MARCH), CAN THEY STILL FILL IN THE FORM AND SUBMIT DBS NUMBER LATER?
We require, as a safety precaustion, that all Adults over 18 have a DBS Check done. This requirement will not be negotiable. If an applicant does NOT have their DBS sorted by 15 March 2022, please complete the form by typing 'PENDING'. We do require the applicant to submit their DBS number by 15 May 2022

6. WILL YOU BE ALLOWING DAY VISTORS DURING CAMPOREE?
At the moment we do not have an instruction on Day Visitors. This will be determined by the number of people on site, which will only be confrimed after 15 May 2022. We will communicate an update accordingly, along with a Day Visitor Cost, if we plan to allow Day Visitors.

7. WHY IS THE PRICE FOR CAMPOREE SO HIGH?
The price for Camporee is in line with all other SEC and BUC Camporees in the past. In 2016 the BUC Camporee was £130.00. In 2017 the SEC Camporee was priced at £150. Because of the current economic climate, we have agreed to keep the Camporee at the same price as 2017.

8. WHY DO ADULTS AND PARENTS HAVE TO PAY IF THEY DO NOT TAKE PART IN ACTIVITIES
The Camporee is usually costed as a whole event, and not based on activities ands accommodation alone. While we tray and keep costs to a minimum, we still need to take into consideration equipment, staffing, marquees, security, hygiene, insurances, speakers, media, and a whole bunch of hidden costs in order to make the event possible. The price is therefore set per capita, based on every 'single body' that physically attend Camporee. Because parents and staff do not take part in activities, but they form part of the event, we set a discounted price for them, because we realise they have to be there, but yet form part of the whole event package. The SEC Pathfinder and Adventurer Department do not make a profit on any of the events we arrange, we are not allowed too, because its a ministry rather than a business.
